We “Art” All Week: A Peek into My Studio
Can a horse and a jellyfish work together? Apparently, they can when they’re sharing space on my art table! 😂🎨
Right now, my studio is full of possibilities: a horse sketch, a jellyfish painting, paint tubes, brushes, and ideas waiting for their turn. There are cats in an upcoming painting, too. Everyone seems to be joining the studio party!

Carrying a Memory of Spring into Fall
There is something beautiful about remembering spring just as the world begins moving into fall.
Spring brings thoughts of new blossoms, brighter days, and the feeling that life is beginning again. Fall carries its own rich beauty, but sometimes it is comforting to keep a little piece of spring nearby—a reminder that every season eventually gives way to renewal.

Do you remember Houston’s Playland Park?
When my sister and I were children, getting to go was a rare treat—and every time we did, I felt as though I were in heaven. I remember the excitement, the rides, the colors, and the sweet memory of pink cotton candy.
I also remember another children’s park called Candy Land—or was it Peppermint Park? I’m honestly not sure anymore! If you remember it, I would love for you to tell me.
Those happy childhood memories inspired Playland Park #2, this week’s featured original in my Wonderful Wednesday Art Auction.

A new mixed-media painting is taking shape on my art table. 🎨
I began by adding collage pieces to a gesso-textured board, then layered acrylic paint over them until the individual collage elements disappeared—leaving their texture and interest beneath the surface.
This is only one stage in the painting’s development. Next, I’ll use a wet-tissue tracing technique to begin adding jellyfish. I’ll continue sharing the progress here as the artwork unfolds, one layer at a time. 🪼✨
